Welcome back. Have you check out our training programing that teaches you how to Create Your Own Website?
What Topic Should my site be about?
This is one of the first things that you need to consider even before you set up of register your website . There’s no point in registering a website with a name and then realizing you have absolutely no interest in the topic and chose it just because it sounded good. Think of the things that you enjoy doing most. For example, if you like reviewing things then start up a reviewing site. If you are a person who likes playing computer games then maybe start thinking about previewing computer games. If you want to start a tech blog then get the latest gadget information. These are just some examples. I recommend that you choose something which isn’t already so common on the internet as it will be more difficult for you to be found. For example if you start a website which looks at hoover nozzles then you could be big on the internet as not many people write about that. So pick something interesting, something people would want to read about, something not too common and most of all something which you enjoy doing.
What should I name my website?
???????????????????????????????????????????????????This is also something very important. When choosing a domain always register your site name under something which reflects what your website is about. (We’ll get onto how to register it later). Let’s take an example, you want to set up a website which informs people on types of government. However, register your website under the name of Adam’s Pizza House. I know I’m exaggerating with the names but you’re going to be losing out on a lot of people coming to your website if you have a inaccurate name. Instead you are going to get hits but only of the wrong type of people who are looking for different things, which is also not good. You want to get traffic to your website but only quality traffic. So you should register your website as something which correctly reflects what your website is about.
What should I choose for the ending of my website? Is .com better than .net?
Up to an extent it doesn’t really matter. The extension of the website is another indication of where your target audience lies. If someone has a .com ending on their blog then you know that it’s probably a website aimed globally rather than a particular place. However, if someone had a .co.uk ending then you’d know that that company is based in the United Kingdom. It’s this subtle ending which tells people a little bit about your blog. The ending .org is usually used for non-profit organizations or charities. Greenpeace.org.uk is a non-profit organization that is based in the UK. That’s what you can tell from the ending of that blog. So in the end it doesn’t really matter what ending your website has. It would only really have a benefit if your website was for your company. If you were a pizza store in London then you should probably use .co.uk rather than .com because there’s not much point in someone from California ordering your pizzas. So in summary just choose something that’s available as it doesn’t affect how well your website does on the internet.
How do I register my domain?
Well first I’ll explain why you have to register a domain first. A domain is basically your website name. Once you buy it then you basically have the permission to host that domain. Just because you have bought a domain does not mean you can automatically host it. You need to find a host who will put your domain onto the web. There are many different websites which offer to register your domain name however it doesn’t come free! You have to pay them a monthly or yearly fee for you to continue to be the owner of that domain name. There are many different domain registrars. One of the more popular ones is GoDaddy.com. Remember that this does not include hosting. Someone that I would recommend would be iPage.com. All you have to do with them is pay for your hosting and then you get your domain name for absolutely free and for your whole time you host with them! Personally I think that that is the best deal you can get and it doesn’t cost too much if you look at what else comes with it. (We’ll go into that in the next article, click here to go there straight away. So basically you go to one of these sites, you type in a domain name that you would like to purchase and they tell you if it is available. If it is then you just have to pay for it and that’s it, the domain is yours!
Bloggers that are searching for more information about the topic of one way links, then make sure to check out the site which was mentioned in this line.
